Introduction by Ted Wittenstein, Director of the Schmidt Program:

”.…It has been really exciting to connect the law, technology, business, and ethics communities at Yale that are looking at challenges in AI from a variety of different vantage points. And of course the booming private sector applications of AI is something that we are really focused on thinking about, particularly…startup companies that have global affairs and global security oriented potential.

No doubt, when it comes to Don Leka, Chairman, Founder and CEO of the Jumptuit Group, who I'll introduce in just a moment, I think it is pretty evident that there is some really exciting work happening in the area of geopolitical forecasting using AI tools. It's one of those topics that I hope will continue to connect areas of our campus and will hopefully spur what I think will be a lot of interesting conversations this evening.

Don has a really interesting and varied career. He started out as an international relations undergraduate and as a business school MBA but he is a technologist. He has over 20 years of experience in AI, cloud computing, and data technologies.

As you'll see with Jumptuit, it's focused on AI driven forecasting and real-time data that can help a wide range of organizations — whether it's in the public sector, private sector, or nonprofits — make real-time decisions and anticipate a variety of future challenges that can result, whether it's related to Geopolitics or economics or a variety of other risk factors.”
